Junior Entrepreneur Programme: Market Research

The children in 5th Class are participating in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme this year. During the first two weeks of January, each child was asked to generate a business idea to present to his / her group. In mid January, each group selected and researched one entrepreneurial idea to present to the Dragons in the Dragons’ Den on January 26. Finally, the Dragons chose “Glorious Gifts” as the “Big Idea” which the whole class will develop into a business over the coming 6-8 weeks.

Eugene O’ Mara, David Gross and Morgan Browne have visited the classroom over the last two weeks to speak with the class about entrepreneurship and to answer the children’s questions about their own business idea. Our visitors have been generous with their time, patient with our questions and full of enthusiasm for “Glorious Gifts.” We would like to thank Eugene, Mr Connor and Mrs Mc Connell for acting as Dragons and Eugene, David and Morgan for their encouragement, advice and support.

We are now conducting market research into a range of gifts to see which gifts our potential customers may want us to produce. We are emailing our survey to parents this week. We ask you to take the time to complete the survey and to submit it before Monday 13 February.  We hope to launch sell our “Glorious Gifts” at a Showcase Day in school before the Easter holidays.
