Global Citizenship Litter and Waste

Have a look at some of the things that we have been doing on our Green Schools’ Global Citizenship-Litter and Waste theme over the last few months.


Senior Infants drew anti – litter pictures


2nd Class took part in An Taisce’s “Ireland 2040” poster competition


3rd Class studied the Global Goals and air miles associated with imported fruit

4th Class did experiments on how to filter and clean dirty water

5th Class painted the national flags of the 21 countries represented at school and did country profiles. They also did projects on Irish Aid, Concern, Irish Red Cross and Goal; participated in An Taisce’s “Ireland 2040” poster competition; and examined the Global Goals for 2030.

6th Class wrote acrostic poems with a Global Citizenship theme, examined where our clothes come from and investigated Fairtrade products.

We have reduced the amount of waste sent to landfill by 5kg per week over the last year-we are also recycling less because we reuse more

The children in our school come from 12 different countries-parents represent 21 different countries
